For the second consecutive year, Antana has sponsored a "solidarity challenge" through sport. From Antana Architecture Studio we are supporting the athlete behind this initiative, Arturo Cimarra, to achieve his #retosolidario2013 of Half Ironman in the Half Challenge of Barcelona Triathlon Half Distance European Championship.
This year Cimarra has set itself the goal of raising €8,000 to finance projects in favour of the Fundación Menudos Corazones, Fundación de Ayuda a los niños con problemas de corazón (www.menudoscorazones.org) and the NGO Por la Sonrisa de un Niño, which helps thousands of children in Cambodia (www.psncamboya.org) to go to school and escape from poverty. 100% of the proceeds will go to these two organisations.
After the last Solidarity Challenge in 2012, two marathons in 1 month and in which more than €15,000 was raised, Arturo Cimarra ended up injured and as he could no longer run he started swimming and thinking about other alternatives that would allow him to continue helping. This is how he set himself the challenge of preparing for a middle distance triathlon - which involves a 2 km swim, 90 km bike ride and 21 km run - and the illusion of participating in the Barcelona Half Challenge that will take place on 19 May 2013; an event that involves a great deal of discipline, sacrifice and effort. He will also take part in another triathlon on 29 June in Madrid.
